Well, this trip didn't start in a good way. This time I went to Thailand and I wanted to travel with a person which I thought I can call a good friend. To weeks before my departure I found out that this person has lied to me many times in a counscienceless way. At first, I wanted to cancel this trip but then I thought, why not travel alone. In Germany we have a saying "If one door closes, another one opens" and so I found myself after a long flight in Phuket. Usually, when I visit a country, I travel around and stay every night on a different place. This time I was lazy and I stayed the whole time at the same hotel. I hired a motor-bike and discovered the island by myself, went often to the beach and to the massage which is really cheap here. Thai people are very nice, entertaining and enjoy a good laughter. They like to make compliments and create a pleasant atmosphere when you talk with them. I had a great time here and mostly thanks to Daeng who worked at my hotel and showed me Phuket and its crazy night life.

From Aussie to Ossi
It's about time to settle down. I'm almost bancrupt. All the money I have ever earned are spent. Two years of travelling and crazy experiences are over. The usual daily life is back and this is good. Life is not a pony riding club. After being unemployed for some month - which was not too bad in times of a worldcup - I got a new job. I'm working now as a research associate for the Federal Environmental Agency of Germany (Umweltbundesamt). I'm very happy about that. This job was my dream. The task of my department is to make industry and production sustainable. I'm living now in Dessau which lies between Leipzig and Berlin. So, I was transformed from an 'Aussie' to an 'Ossi' (=short form for people from East Germany). I'm looking forward to experience the East part of my country and its people. So, let's start my new life.

Visiting my sister and her boyfriend in Bonn
My sister has a new boyfriend. Well, they are a couple since 2 years but so far, I have never managed to meet him as I was not in Germany for a long time. So, I accompanied my parents to visit my sister and Nouredine in Bonn. Was a good trip and I must say that I really like Nouredine.

Worldcup 2006 - A time to make friends
Damn, what a crazy time. I'm addicted. We have worldcup. I'm collecting Panini stickers, like I did when I was a little kid. I'm watching around...seems like everybody is on ecxtasy...everybody is smiling..everybody's eyes are gleaming...we have sunshine since weeks...every day >30°C...I wonder: when Beckenbauer is launching into something, does even the weather obey? I see people from different countries, different cultures, different religions, drinking together, celebrating together, cheering together and comforting each other. I ask myself, why does soccer achieves this so easy while politicians worldwide fail to do so? Soccer, the new religion. I wish this worldcup will last forever.
